Automation Platforms

At AAE, our automation story starts with a simple belief: the systems you invest in today should keep performing for 15 to 20 years, without costing the earth – financially or ecologically. That is why we design and build our own automation platforms, so we can take responsibility for every detail that affects reliability, uptime and environmental impact.

We chose to name our platforms Cascade, Emerald, Viridian and Holly after different shades of green. That is not a branding afterthought, but a daily reminder of our ambition to be best for the world. Each shade of green represents a different strength within the platform family: from ultra-high-speed continuous motion at 600 parts per minute, to flexible, robot-assisted solutions that adapt to changing products and processes. Every platform has a proven track record in the area it was born to excel in.

Behind the names and colours lies a shared foundation. All AAE platforms are built on the same modular, signature architecture. This gives you the freedom to configure exactly what you need today, and the confidence that you can scale or adapt tomorrow, without compromising on performance, reliability or sustainability.

Cascade

Cascade lives up to its name. It creates a continuous, seamless flow of products that is especially suited for high-volume printing and assembly of cylindrical and round-shaped items in speed-critical environments. Built to handle multiple processes in one integrated line, Cascade boosts throughput while maintaining consistent, high-quality output.

Its compact footprint makes smart use of valuable floor space, which is crucial in large batch-size operations. And because Cascade is designed for high-speed output with minimal downtime and waste, it delivers some of the lowest operating costs per product in its class.

Emerald

Where Cascade is all about continuous speed, Emerald is about controlled precision. Using indexed motion – both linear and rotary – Emerald moves products through the line in a fixed rhythm, giving each station exactly the time it needs to perform its task. Dosing, assembly, inspection and other critical steps all take place within a stable, predictable process window.

Its flexible station concept makes Emerald ideal for complex assemblies that demand accuracy and repeatability, across a wide variety of substrates and product forms. When your process calls for meticulous handling and tight tolerances, Emerald delivers precision you can rely on, cycle after cycle.

Viridian

If Cascade is about flow and Emerald about precision, Viridian is about adaptability. It is built for evolving production environments, where products change, processes mature and new steps are added over time.

Viridian uses asynchronous process times and servo-controlled movements to keep a continuous workflow going, even when different stations need different handling concepts. Each station can be tailored to the task at hand without slowing the line down. That makes Viridian particularly suited for delicate parts and for lines that need to combine continuous and indexed motions in one smart, efficient platform – balancing flexibility, efficiency and throughput in a single system.

Holly

Where Viridian brings adaptability to the line, Holly brings agility to the workcell. It seamlessly integrates robots and cobots into the automation process, enabling flexible layouts, easy adjustment and safe collaboration with human operators.

Holly is the go-to choice when you need high flexibility at lower output volumes. It can run as a standalone cell or work alongside other AAE platforms and systems. Its robust, scalable design supports a wide range of industrial applications, from material handling synchronized with injection molding machines to assembly, metal processing, packaging and end-of-line automation.

With Holly, you can reconfigure, repurpose and expand your automation as your products and processes evolve, without starting from scratch each time.
